This small diffenence in tires wouldn't give a difference in gas milage of over 10MPG. Something else is wrong.

Stock is 185/70-14 which comes to 24.2 inches overall diameter. So you are only about 6% different from stock. When your odometer says you went 100 mi, you actually have gone about 106. Nice, thanks for that information. Today I looked at the driver side door and I saw a bunch of tires I can use. 205/60 is one of them. Yes this 6 mile difference should not alter the MPG by 10 or so... I don't sense anything wrong while driving the car.

Change your plugs, plug wires, air filter, fuel filter (might as well hit it), check your tires for proper inflation and then see how things react. Always start with the cheap stuff if you haven't done any maintenance of the sort in a while and if you don't have a specific idea of what your problem is.
I can tell you right now that it ISN'T your rims, unless they weigh in about 50lbs. a piece and you're running 6-ply trailer tires on them...
The lack of a CEL has got me questioning whether it could be your O2 sensors, but have your local shop check them just in case (stranger things have happened on Contours). Also have them check your ignition timing as well.
It could also be that your cat is getting clogged up, too. There are just too many variables for one swipe, so you're going to have to start eliminating some of the cheap and easy ones first.

Have you done any performance modifications? If so did you reset the computer?? If not then why?

Hmm, thanks again. I changed the spark plugs and timing belt when I got the car. Maybe I'll check the cat and I know nothing about the O2 whatever.

Changed the timing belt? Did you take any notes what kind of mileage you were getting before you changed the tires and before you changed the timing belt?
Not to say the timing belt change was done incorrectly, but it would be a good idea to at least double check correct installation. This would eliminate or identify a possible problem.

This past winter, I experienced the same thing while at school. For about a month, I averaged about 14 mpg (not to pleasing). As noted above - definately change out the plugs and filters. It's the first thing I did, and it brought my average back to the high 20's (for combined city/highway travel.)

Also it may be the thermostat is stuck open and the engine takes a long time to come up to temperature if it does at all. The PCM has a programed temperature where when below this preset temperature, it runs the engine at what I'm going to call, warm up mode where teh PCM commands running a richer mixture among other things, and when above this temperature it runs in what I'm going to call normal mode.
depending on how easy or difficult it is to access the thermostat, it is sometimes just faster to change the thermostat than try to trouble shoot it.

Argh, I did not put any mods into it. The spark plugs were changed along with the wires. I did not record the MPG before the timing belt change because I did it once I got the car. BTW which air filter are you talking about? I opened the one on top of the engine and it seem very clean. This is fustrating.

If your CEL light doesn't come on for just a second when you first start the car, the light is probably burned out. Replace the bulb and confirm that you really don't have any CELs or faulure codes. If you have 16" rims, and 205-60 tires you will probably here rubbing when you go over bumps. 16" rims usually require 50 series tires IIRC. (You probably have 205-60 R15) H is the speed rating.
