He's talking about using more dumbells instead of using straight bars for curls. Use 2 dumbells of the same weight and do alternating curls (there's many different forms you can use) what this does is prevent one arm from doing more work than the other (which often happens with straight bars) and forces each arm to do the same amount of work which eventually will help even them out.

Right. Every few weeks I switch some of my exercises from barbell to dumbell and vice-versa.

I'll let you in on a secret. Stop doing regular bench press. Do dumbbell press idealy on one of those exercise balls. Your pecks will grow faster.
