That's wierd. I put the VIN in for the "free" Carfax and it came back with correct vehicle info, 0 records. It didn't come back with invalid VIN however. Maybe Carfax is just saying that it has no records, i.e. the vehicle was never registered or the odometer reading never submitted to any government agency. OASIS would be better to have build info, warranty work, etc.
