I have a 98 w/ 2.0L Zetec. I'm almost certain my head gasket is leaking in the center, causing the two center plugs to get "cruddy", causing lots of pinging. I would like to put colder plugs in the two bad cylinders, to help eliminate the pre-ignition, until I can get this fixed.

My problem is I can't seem to get anyone to tell me what would be the part numbers for double plat plugs, that are two ranges colder.

Any info would be appreciated!

Wouldn't you want hotter plugs to try and burn the crud off? At any rate, I think you should park the car until you get it fixed. Too much pre-ignition and you might hole a piston plus if the coolant gets into your oil, kiss your bearings goodbye. Sorry I can't tell you the numbers you seek but perhaps the Motorcraft website or some other website would be of help.

Can't park it, need to get to work. Colder plugs would not cause the crud to get hot enough to pre-ignite/ping.
