Who buddie, i don;t know why your getting mad but you need to chil...i was merly giving you advise.....and yes you are correct, airflow with the stock air box does go throgh the tube, but if you look at the part of the tube thats in the fender, you will realize how resticve it is, and because the airbox draws air throught that little hole as well, it is also resticted to the amount of air it can process so your not using the filters whole surface area to your advantage. Thats why the best route is to remove the "plastic tube" in the fender wall, put an open air filter eliment, and custom build, or buy a Detec Heat sheild, and then find a way or use tubes to route cooler outside air to your filter. But like you said you wanted to keep it stock, so i gave mild suggestions.
A open air filter w/a custom heat sheild will always beat the stock air box....DemonSVT cna give you numbers becaus he has them.
Weahter your frustrated with my suggestions or pissed at me (which you sdhouldn;t be because i wasn;t rude) I don;t know, but you don;t have to do anything i suggest. Im only reconmending something that has been proven to give more HP and throttle respons which you said you were looking for.
