Where is the cheapest place I can get a centerforce dual friction for the V6, I see these prices all over the place and I just heard that they can be had for $360. SPMotorsports has them for $460 and Nopionline has them for $435. I can't find any other place that has them for cheaper. I was also wondering where the cheapest place to get a Fidanza flywheel is? Flechautosports, what are your prices for transmission parts? Any input will be appreciated.

Get a SPEC clutch!

Much better than a clutch that uses plastic in it's mating surface.

Also the SPEC clutches come with an upgraded pressure plate. (only company that does too) That alone sells it IMO.

I am looking into the Spec clutches as well, but I do not know which application to choose...I want to use the Fidanza flywheel (no stage II as I hear glazing is a problem) and Stage I I'm not sure can handle the power of a 3.0liter, and the Stage III seems a little bit unnecessary since I don't plan on going to the track or auto-x-ing, not to mention I want to keep my ride as far from jerky as possible (which is why I'm getting the Fidanza ). Also, the Centerforce has had nothing but great reviews and is known to work extremely well with the fidanza, plus it doesn't have the same chattering problem that the spec's seem to. If I knew the Spec Stage I would have just as good a bite, hold up to power just as well, and work perfectly with the Fidanza, the way the Centerforce does, than I would save the extra $150-$200 and buy the Stage I.

Get the Centerforce and Fidanza Combo.. a match made in heaven, NO DAMN annoying Chatter to hear of.. and Awesome GRIP!

your best bet for a Centerforce DF is NOPI for something like 430 shipped..

I can get you the Fidanza for 375 shipped.

Unless your doing the 3L Turbo I'd get the Centerforce.. I have had it for about 5000 miles with NO PROBLEMS, NO NOISES whatsoever... and yes.. I do USE it bigtime to its full capabilities.

there should be a debate between the hardcore/veteran'ers about the spec clutch or centerforce. I plan on getting the fidanza, so would a spec stage 1 or the centerforce be better? The spec stage one is soo much cheaper....

I just bought the Centerforce Dual friction, I'll post up how it feels when I get my trans back from Terry. I went thru the whole Spec clutch or Centrforce and decided to go with the Centerforce, only because its been proven time and time again.

I figured I should repeat that since it seems to be fairly important.

BTW - Spec Stage 1 is rated at 290 lb/ft of TQ. Tell me what NA 3L is even close to that! Heck what's the Centerforce rated at??? (I'd bet if it was rated it would not even be that high)

One of the other problems I have with the Centerforce DF is that you only get half the package. FWD vehicles not get their dual stage/finger pressure plate. Just a stock replacement.
Not to mention the whole plastic friction material part. High rpm clutch slip and that friction material becomes very suspect. What about heavy track use.
Combine those two factors together and you definitely get a clutch I am not willing to pay for. Especially when there are better choices out there and even cheaper at that.

What is to debate about? I had a CF dual fricton clutch on my Eclipse GSX and after a lengthy break in period it failed within 1000 miles. My OEM clutch took a beating and a 1/2 BEFORE the CF clutch, and the clutch that replaced that turd took a nice pounding after the break in period and took it all without any problem. Out of any clutch I have EVER had in any car/truck, CENTERFORCE was tbe very worst...period. Centerforce is way over priced for what you get. The clutch material is garbage IMO, OEM pressure plate and a warranty that isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

Spec actually has a good aftermarket pressure plate and they have clutch materials that are high quality (I'd steer clear of any Kevlar personally).
I'm the sole source for ceramic hybrid clutches for our cars (So far atleast) and even I have been debating a switch from MY clutch (Other than Spec, I'd say my clutch setup is the best choice over any other clutches out there for our cars.) to a Spec stage III. If only the stage II came with a better lining......

Bottom line, Spec SPANKS Centerforce in everyway for much less money. I am so sure of it, I'll set myself up with this post of mine

maybe your right.. an Eclipse GSX is in the same "modded power class" as the contour..

of course the GSX is bone stock right?
