demon from what i hear you the svt expert on here and i guess the resident ass as well huh? i asked for advise not a critique of the plug choice and since i dont run nos all day long i did'nt think a platinum plug would be a bad choice but on that one weekend a month when i switch to the denso plugs and i can only muster the 9.5 with nos and the 10.19 without(oh and the 10.19 is at like 69mph and the 9.5 is at 75 mph) if that means anyhing to anyone so my point is if you have any other critiques on what im doing wrong please feel free to tell me but with what im running ad far as mod go how do my numbers look? and not to be a jerk i just want to know what else i can do to get into the 9's n/a can i actual get some this time

You want to run 9's and high traps? cmon up to IN. All of the tracks around here are usally 5mph off, fast that is. Oh and they are only off on contours no other cars. cmon up man it will be fun. Break some half shafts drinks some beers. Good times!

Ouch! I don't think he resorted to cussing you out. I suppose if you are on the short end of the stick you may resort to verbal attacks. (underdogs Handicap rules.)

Oh, but little do you know that they are a VERY BAD choice with nitrous of any kind, not just a NOS setup. You see platinum is a catalyst; its used in chemical experiments, some catalytic converters and other things because it can cause a reaction to proceed spontaneously just by its very presence. Nitrous and fuel will sometimes go without the aid of the spark when platinum plugs are used resulting in a serious backfire that can destroy your engine.

Nice Recovery!! (Though it doesn't quite smoothly fit the first part of the sentence.)

Talk about a contradiction, first you cuss him out, now you are asking his help. (read->bipolar)

All jokes aside, I've really enjoyed this and I hope you know that it was all in fun. No animals were hurt on this comedy set. I'm sure you were just playing around too, so I know Demon won't have anything but chuckles.

lol, ok, I'm done playing around.
First off, wheel hop is a common problem with the contour for two reasons that I know of: 1.) flexible motor mounts. 2.) type of tire compound used.
If you put energy suspension polyurethane inserts into the front motor mount $15 and take off the rear motor mount and use liquid windshield polyurethane (like caulk and can be found at some hardware stores) you will greatly reduce the wheel-hop, but not eliminate it. The last fix is to find a set of tires that slip in such a way that they don't hop. I didn't realize this until I tried 3 different sets of tires. First are the BFG's, they wheel hop, but its not to bad once the mounts are stiffer. Next I tried Nitto's and they bucked like a bronco! I've never had a z-rated tire with worse wheel hop or just lack of good straight-line traction. Last, I bought Falken zeix 512's and I have been happy every since! (4 months now) When they slip they don't hop, AT ALL! and they are a z rated tire on par with the BFG GForce series with a 300 treadware and only cost about $95-$105 per tire. This should solve most of your big traction issues so you can launch at that higher rpm you want, say 3000-3500 or so with moderate slipping of the clutch.
I don't think your spark plugs are causing you issues now, that is just a future time-bomb waiting to happen with platinum plugs and nitrous. By the way, I ran the bosh +4's and for a while they ran great. After a while, the waste-spark ignition system in our cars eats away the electrodes and they begin to misfire. I also had more pinging when my car was stock on a hot day with the +4's then I ever did with the motorcraft double plats. Right now I'm running NGK TR-6 plugs and they seem to be working great. That might be a good all around plug for your nitrous setup.
Does this answer you questions now?

[sort of off-topic] Good for nitrous, but they have (one of) the same problem as the Bosch (or any non-plat plug). After 12k miles, my set of TR6s were what I call "medium" worn on the back bank. Enough to roughen up idle but not really affect performance yet. Still obvious widening of the gap due to wear on the ground side.
I'm perfectly happy with the APP103s (NOT GOOD FOR NITROUS). Just as cold as the TR6 plugs with the bonus of double plat. [/sort of off topic]

You should think about swapping the rear plugs to the front if you want more mileage out of them at around 10K miles, otherwise they'll be screwing up after about 15K. Then just get cheap standard plugs since you are running nitrous so you don't backfire. If you run nitrous on a regular basis, you might as well just leave the standard type plugs in because you are going to risk messing up your spark plug threads in the heads if you are switching them out every weekend. Standard plugs should last a good 15 - 20K miles and you should probably swap front bank w/rear bank and re-gap them after about 7-8K miles just to even out the wear and inspect them. This will save you from burning off electrodes with the nitrous and waste-spark system. If your plugs outlast your car then your car sucks or your maintenance sucks. I advise you to use a quality nitrous kit with a fuel pressure cut-off switch that shuts off the nitrous in case you have a fuel failure if the kit is a cheap one, and if its a fancy one that monitors all these features then its probably ok.
If you are serious about running nitrous, you should do a dyno test with/without nitrous so you can veryify you aren't running into some lean spots on your dyno curve, and if so you can try to fix them.
