The way Carlisle does classes is too weird. There's no reason the standard tours shouldn't have had their own class to compete in.
We're lucky we had our own class at all ... period . If it wasn't for me begging & pleading & conversing with the Carlisle productions event coordinator , we'd have still been lumped with the Escorts & Tempos , like other years . Like I said before , the class next year should put all Contours / Mystiques together in their own class . There was a mistake in the translation that made the class just for SVTs . There's no reason a "standard" Contique couldn't compete with any SVT in a car show . For now , we just need to work on getting the overall Contique numbers up , not split 'em up into many classes . I'm not going to go nuts trying to get a "standard" Contour class , and a "standard" Mystique class , a "modified-standard" Contour class , a "modified-standard" Mystique class , a "stock" SVT class , a "modified SVT" class ... etc , that would be silly . I know that I can't compete with all of the other SVTs that were there ... but I'm happy just to have everyone there & showing numbers . Perhaps someday we could have all the different classes , but for now , I think we need to concentrate on the important thing ... getting cars there .
