Changing the oil on the wifes 96 contour (4 cyl zetec) and I decided to pop the plugs to have a look.

The number 1 plug looked like it had oil on it, was not dry compared to the the other 3 plugs.
Car only has 70000 km (44K miles).

Any feedback on my findings is apreciated.

The car passed goverment emission testing with flying colours in March of this year.

Also what tork value should I use for the tightning of the plugs?

Thanks in advance.

My #1 plug had oil on it too. Someone told me it's probably the valve cover gasket.(inexpensive) I just added some Restore brand oil additive to my engine, to see it'll fix it. I used the torque value of tighten with ratchet.

"Wow, that sank fast." "Yeah, like a rock."

The electrode was a rustic brown color. Looked comparable to the other 3 plugs. The only difference was that it was not dry.
