I have done some searching and still havnt come up with a conclusion to my problem. A while ago I put an adaptor and filter on my 2.5 gl and it stopped running , replaced tha air box and it worked fine. No mods were made to the maf or temp sensor. Today I tried again I took off the air box with the car running and the car started sputtering ..I stuck my hand in front of the maf sensor and it started smooth again, after moving my hand it ran ok. I put the adaptor in place and it stopped running. I then bored out the adaptor to make sure there were no restrictions in front of the maf snesor, the car started and ran fine but it surges and drops to low rpms spuratically. I drove it a bit and I noticed the car is much louder than usual and I see no loss in power however when driving up a hill in town during heavy throttle it started sputtering but still no real danger but not good for that matter. Then I stopped at a stop light and it rolled to a stop ..stalled. I drove it home and popped the hood. everything seems like it should be fine and I dont see the problem. There is a very loud humming/buzzing noise coming from the intake ...can anyone help diagnose this problem?

The humming/buzzing sounds like a case of the Moose. What type of adapter and filter are you dealing with?

Beats me dude ..just some thing picked up off ebay ..sent me the wrong adaptor I presume ..didnt quite fit right and needed to be bored out

It sounds nice at heavy throttle but I dont know if it is "safe" or not. I would like to know so if anyone has any idea at all no matter how ridiculous let me know. and what is this moose doodoo

Your car is deffinately moosing. Do a search for the subjects "moosing", "moose", "throttle hang fix", "TH fix". This is very common to these cars and can be easily fixed.

I am not to worried about the noise. I just put my intakeon and thats when it started and its coming from there so I just assume direct relation to air intake and its ok. But my car has never ever stalled for any reason and it doesnt like it. I know if I put the airbox back on it will be fine again, No more throttle hang, no more moosing and no more stalling ..but damnit it looks so good and It is one of my few performance mmods... cant just throw it out
