Id ReBuild A '62 Continental Convertable. Black With Lots Of Chrome. All Green Neons. Hydros. A Good System. And As Much As I Could Do To Speed The Beast Up.

As a dream "project" car mine would be a 1973 Porsche 914 with either a small-block 350 or a Porsche GT3 engine put in it. Can you say 350-400hp in a mid-engined, 2000lb. car.

Dream car? BMW Z8.

However, with what I would plan to do, a simple 3-series sedan would be more useful and spacious. It would be chock-full of all tech and entertainment goodies I could get my hands on, especially a huge multimedia system as well. A couple of computers would control it all.

A Convertable SVT Tour, with a twin turbo 3.0, Being towed to the track by 2004 SVT Lighthing. At the house I would want a fully restored 1969 Camero midnight blue, with straight headers. Parked next to my Canary yellow 1972 Chevelle with a 402 sitting on a 400 turbo transmission, with black racing stripes down the center and over the 5 inch cowl hood. With chrome traction bars and a chrome pumkin.

'69 Corvette with an L71 427 (11:1 compression ratio) and the four-speed. If I'm ever wealthy some day I'd like to buy one and restore it by hand.

Tough question.

Most of the cars I lust after (E34 M5, urQuattro, 250 GTO, 250 SWB etc) are still available in awesome condition, albeit for a price.

For a project car ...... maybe a MkI or II Escort to full rally spec with something modern under the hood & AWD. Or an E-Type Jag convertible in B.R.G. to full original specs. Now that I think of it, an Eagle E-Type would be even better. It's an E-Type with all the important bits brought up to modern specs.

Dreams .......

Zipper bodied 1927 Modified Track T roadster
27 T Modified body (means just the tub for those not into street rods) with track nose
Independant quick change rear, solid axle front, coil overs all around
SR20DET engine, fully built and prepped
S15 Silvia trans (stick)
20" rear wheels. 17" fronts
4 Wheel disc brakes
Full custom audio system with sub(s)
Roll hoop welded to chassis
Race seats w/ harnesses
Probably deep black, maybe with some sort of flames, and a touch of chrome here and there.

This is my combination of my two automotive loves, street rods and sport compacts. the style of the old blended with the performance of the new, and some new flavor style as well. Cost to build would be roughly 15-20K. Built SR20DET can lay down a good 4-500 whp, silvia trans is a 6 speed, solid axle front/independant rear w/coilover should porvide excellent handling. Whole car would probably weight 2000 lbs or so, maybe less. Zoom Zoom
