Yeah, I wish it were that simple
It's actually poor programming on SVT's part. The spark advance goes *negative*

during throttle transitions at anything under 3500 RPM. THe dealership and Ford (regional rep) refuse to acknowledge it as abnormal. To an extent it isn't, since the other two 2000 CSVTs I've driven do the exact same thing. Extreme retardation of the spark. Very easy to see with a OBD2 scanner.
I did manage to work around it by forcing the TPS to never go above ~40% (2V or so); full-throttle above 4000 wasn't as good but at least it didn't stutter like a mofo. One of these days I'll get off my lazy butt and make a shunt that can be triggered off of MAF voltage or something, so it ends up clamping the TPS below ~4k and letting it show full voltage at higher.
Just pisses me off that they claim it's normal (and had the gall to tell me I must not know how to drive a stick... uh yeah
