MrsFurby, if you're in Charleston, why don't you just go to Chick-Fil-A in N. Chas on Rivers at the Best Buy plaza? Mmmmmmmmm Chick-Fil-A. YUM.
And if that's not good enough the Don Pablo's (please tell me they're still there and still have the molten choc. cake) is decent Mexican, Zero's is decent for a quick sub, and there's always the Frank-N-Stein (hot dogs and beer in a mall) in the mall across the street... as well as Quizno's.
Hell, there's even a Sonic just up the road from all of that!!

For a while I worked at the Burger King in Auburn MA, and I can tell you I WILL eat there again (and even the McDonalds across the street from it or the Wendys down there too). Good management with the right priorities plays a BIG role in how the job is getting done.
The dining room is a reflection of the kitchen, I have also learned. If the tables are filthy and floor is cruddy, then the kitchen definitely is; but if they are clean then the kitchen (generally) is as well. There have been places I have walked in and simply walked out because I could not find any decent table, which definitely leads me to conclude that the kitchen would be no better.
I may have a few horror stories about working at the BK, but none of them have anything to do with food preparation or cleanliness.

The single one that was left here closed about a month ago. I was sad because I'd stop there if I was ever leaving town in the morning to get a biscuit. They have the best biscuits!

Sounds like you know the area well. I have actually never been to that Chick-Fil-A, I am too cheap......LOL. See it all the time though. I have been to Don Pablo's only once, and that was in Ft. Worth, Tx. I only went to the BK here as a last minute thing. The baby had fallen asleep, so I figured we'd stop on the way to the house. I just hope they can get their act together, that's all.

Oh, and for anyone on OSU campus, dont go to No.1 Chinese if you currently do. My friend found 3 broken pieces of razor blade in his dinner about a month ago.

I'd hope I know the area well... I lived in Summerville for 6 months in 2000 (moved with the girl I was dating at the time) and worked at that Best Buy (517!!), so, I got familiar with that whole area.
The Old Country Buffet... blecch. I'm not a big buffet fan.
Although, not to backpedal too far, but, the chinese buffet over by the Navy Credit Union isn't too bad.

OMG, yeah, I love China Buffet, real good food there. I like Old Country as well. I am a buffet hog. I love them. I don't do Shoney's very often though. Last time I did, I wasn't impressed. I have only been to the Charleston Club once, that was for a pre-deployment family briefing before my hub went to Saudi. It was ok considering we only had finger foods. My hub is with Civil Engineering. He's a plumber basically, but an outdoor plumber. Yes ppl, there IS a difference in the military. I think, don't construction companies put in fire hydrants and sewer lines in the cities? Or do actual plumbers do that too?? Anyway, he's in the Outdoor Utilities shop. They do fire hydrants, sewer lines, that sort of thing. There is a separate shop, the Interior shop, that does indoor plumbing such as toilets and sinks and things on military buildings. There is a housing office, run by civilians that do the base housing problems, unless it's after hours, then it my hub or his coworkers, whoever is on call that week. He likes it, keeps him busy, but there's a few ppl at work he could do without. He was so happy being away from the morons when he was in Saudi that he told me if they had a 3yr family tour over there, he would have volunteered for it and brought us over.
