What the heck.
I had slowed for a 90 degree right-hander today, was in neutral, about to shift into second, when I just happen to notice I COULDN'T TURN THE STEERING WHEEL!! AND GUESS WHAT? JUST FOR THE HECK OF IT, MY BRAKE PEDAL TURNED INTO A LUMP OF CEMENT! Gee, is that a traffic island I'm approaching? I wrestle the dead steering wheel a little to the left, just barely miss the curb of the island, and mashed my brake pedal with both feet. The car stops. Never mind that I am now blocking a "exit only" lane.
I didn't even notice my car stalled- until I looked at the tach after I popped the hazards on (I did have the radio on). It just quietly stalled- no sense of a struggling engine through the pedals or steering wheel. I Restarted, reversed, and went home. Didn't stall again.
What if this had happened on the highway, like braking for a jam ahead or something?
I did a search and many, many people have had stalling problems. Not a clear solution yet. Or is there?
