Roots style superchargers like an Eaton give you power right off the line. Like 4psi at 1800 rpms. Centrifigul(sp?) superchargers like the Vortech are far from that. They gain boost with engine rpm and reach full boost at redline. Turbos are good because they don't waist horsepower like a supercharger that is driven from the crank. The roots blower may get boost quicker than a lot of turbos, but they also use something like 30hp to drive at high rpms.
