What are your tire pressures? Start with the recommended pressures there is a pressure sticker in the door area (I can't remember which door exactly). Lower the pressure a little and try it. Did it ride hard before you got the Goodyear tires? Sometimes the tire shop puts 40 psi in the new tires which will hurt...My 1998 Mystique has the original struts at 80kmiles, and are still good, firm ride (205/60-15 Bridgestone RE910) but not tiresome. My sister's Mystique has 114 kmiles, rides good too on old struts. Worn out struts make the car wallow or shudder, but not usually a hard ride. I put Sensatracs and front springs on my 1985 Dodge Lancer, ride damping was firmed up from its worn out struts, but not harder impact than stock. I find the Mystiques ride well, stiffer than my Dad's Avalon, smoother than my 1991 SHO which hits the bumps hard...

It is my suspension.

In addition, if you (Majisto) had read my last post, you would have seen I have new tires:

Goodyear Assurance ComforTred P205/60R-15 90T VSB.

In addition, I just had new front right and left lower control arms installed at the dealer. They also suggested that my back struts are leaking oil, which I can see. I can also hear the back left strut *rattle* quite bad especially over railroad tracks but also when the road drops suddenly in the road, ect.

The tire pressure is set via sticker on the inner door. It says 32-psi front and 34-psi back.

With all respect, Majisto, your comments...

"So many times people blame the suspension before they check out their tires...I agree that the Contour rides a bit rough, but I am on the 14" tires so I'm not complaining."

...are simply critical and do not help in any way. Try to be constructive. I thought that's what the Countour.org site/posts are supposed to be.

So, does it make a diffence if I go with the OEM's or Monroes?
