Most TV cards are exactly the same. I have a TV WOnder VE (just like the TV Wonder, but no S-video in, just coax-in and RCA-in)

These TV Cards are usually based on the BT878 chipset (Used by ATI, Hiipauge <sp>, WinTVgo, etc...)

Dump what ever software you get (especially if you bought the ATI card!!!) with your TV card and use the following (all free):

1. I use the opensource driver : http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/links.html

2. For watching TV, I use DScaler (Amazing Quality - super de-interlacer and Time shifting):
http://deinterlace.sourceforge.net/

3. You can use your tv card for analogue video capture!!! I use VirtualDub( And the best part is, your BTXXX based TV card ignores macrovision signals!!! Makes is handy for transfering your VHS collection to VCD/SVCD/KVCD):

If you really feel like paying for TV watching software, I've found PowerVCR to be the best of the lot. A nice little bonus is it has a built-in Mpeg1/2 encoder, so you can master straight to VCD or DVD recordable if you wish....

If you are gonna go ati, go with the newest all in wonder, i have the 8500dv and graphics are now slow. Unless you dont ever upgrade to direct x 9, its too slow. Bad support for ati cards in direct x9. if you get the 9500, i heard its much better.

I have an ATI TV wonder and have been very happy with it. If you are looking for a monitor than can do a dual-display you should look into the ATI All-In-Wonder series (as menitoned above)

Have you used one! I have an ASUS TV tuner card and other than finding the right mounting for the remote it has been great. ASUS just put out another one. I would look into it. ASUS makes good ones for decent money.

Andy W. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

Bro, you really don't know what you are talking about so I suggest you be quiet.

Now on to the thread. You really can't go wrong with any of the TV cards out right now. I second the ASUS one as well.

Now I hate America? That is a new one to me.
