Hi Guys,

First time poster. I just noticed that my Contour had a burning smell a few days ago and then last night I noticed my radio, electric mirrors, courtesy lights, and clock don't work. And the solenoid shifter out a park "clicks" or is activated when I touch my brakes. Any ideas? I have a
'97 GL V6 Automatic. I would think it's probably the pesky Fuse 34 I read about on this web site - but would that be attributed to the clicking noise, too?

I'm not a car-tinkering guy at all, so bare with me. Thanks!

Exact same thing happened to my car lastyear. It was fuse 34 but the reason it blew was because the park sensor fried itself and blew the fuse, causing everything you mentioned to stop responding and the clicking from stepping on the brakes when out of park... Ford fixed mine. the park sensor is somewhere right up front under the center console. The service record showed a replaced park sensor and fuse 34. I don't remember the cost though. I'll have to go look in my service folder for the reciept.
