Tobehuman there is a guy at work, his is just barely lifting up, and he is awaiting the kit. But he has not seen the kit installed on mine yet. But yea they should fix yours.

Sorry but that really bites. I agree the old dash with the plastic piece arcoss it looks so much better IMHO. :rolleyes:

The least they could do was at least paint it to match with your dash color.... :rolleyes:

I wonder if you could ask the service department to do so beforehand, for those of you that are going to have it installed? It's worth a try, at least...

You know the original stip is still there the big black one is rivited through that one and into the dash. Looks shotty.
Yes I agree fully then it might not look so bad, or should I say horrid.

Normal procedure for doing the dash recall would not require them to remove the front window to do the recall.. In order for them to put the rivets into the dash they would have had remove the window......I would bring it back to them and tell them to do the job right.... That would be pissing me off.....I feel for you man

I dropped mine off at the dealer Wednesday afternoon. They said it might need a new dash rather than just the repair kit (I didn't think they did replacement dashes anymore, but mine is really warped up badly), and would call today. No word yet....

They didn't remove the winsheild. I know this cause they got glue all over the inside of the window and they scratched the windsheild. It's going back to them. The dimmer on my radio was not working so I pulled it and found a fuse holder to be broke. But the bad thing is the center pice where the radio is, has 4 screws on bottom and 3 clips along the top. Well now there is only 1 clip and the pice where my headlight switch is, well it is broke and holding by the wires. Well they are fixing this stuff.

Brad you DO NOT have to accept that kind of repair!!! I had a NEW dashboard put in my car and my dash was not as bad as yours. Your dealer is yanking you around. Ford customer service insisted to my dealer that a new dash be installed,NOT A KIT! I did have to wait about 6 months for the new dash, but that was because they were being made.[a different supplier] Yes the new dash looks identical to the old.[minus the warpage] However it is made with a different vinyl material.[it is much softer] My advise would be to call Ford customer care and calmly explain your disatisfaction with the repairs and calmly explain the damage that was done to your car. Above all BE CALM AND POLLITE!! You want the person at Ford you talk to to help you so do not piss them off! Make honey flow from your mouth. I'll give you a little info. Before the rep got my dealer on the phone(yes we had a 3 way calling confrence] he told me it was his job to help me, but he had to back whatever posistion the dealer took. Get it? Whatever you do make this person want to help you! In my case I had a service manager tell me the reason they were installing the kit was because they did not have any tech's that wanted to work on Contour's that they were very hard to work on. I explained that since no one there wanted to work on my car I was very affraid to take my car there to be worked on, because there may be reprisals from the tech's. This won the rep to my side and every thing went GREAT! You have the damage to your car on your side. Use these things to help yourself. Just dont be confrontational. Be very pollite and explain your fears of having problems because of the extra damage that was done to your car You know to this day I cannot walk into the dealership without getting my backside licked completely clean. You should see it, I go in for a oil change and I'm pampered like a KING! they have even offered to feed me while I'm there, drive me around so that I can take care of any errands I may want to do while they work on my car. You know IT IS GOOD TO BE KING!!!!

Brad, I just took another look at your photo's. That is not the same kit that I have seen! All I can say is OMG! Call Ford first thing Monday and see what you can do. OMG!

Hay I will do that. Someone at work told me to take it to a different dealership, but hay I think I will call. Thanks for the info.
