I had the same thing happen the other day. Very hot, left moonroof in open tilt position, went to close it - NOTHING. It would not move and the switch did nothing. I started driving on the highway, remembering all the dead motor stories I have read here. Ten minutes later I tried to close it again and it worked perfectly. Same smooth operation, no grinding, just fine. I think maybe something overheated and caused a connection problem. Anyway - my 2¢.
