I do understand the fact that it's still a Neon, but in terms of bang for the buck, it's a good value. How many cars that cost under 20 grand are that fast? I read an article in Road and Track which said no other car in that price range came close to touching 100 mph in the quarter mile(it hit 101.5). I wouldn't buy it, but this ain't your 16 year old sister's Neon, if you know what I mean.

Yeah, and tell all the SVT guys around here they're just driving a regular ol' Tour.
It may look the same, but it certainly isn't a regular Neon.
If Dodge sank $2-3000 into a good quality interior, and some amenities, it would be an all around better car than the CSVT ever was, perform leagues ahead of the SVT, and still sell for less money.
And on top of that, it will have full Mopar support, who already has dozens of modifications waiting to hit the street. None of that bitching that no one ever makes any mods for your car.

Someone sounds envious that a CSVT would get it's ass handed to it over and over by a factory Neon. The point of the Neon is to fool macho guys like yourself into thinking it's slow, thrifty transportation for your sweet lil younger sister. Would you not buy a bunch of CSVTs if they came from the factory with a 3.0L SC V6 that ran mid 5s to 60 all day and cost under 20K? If I could afford it, I'd take one over a Contour any day. Alas, a used SVT will suit me nicely.

For 1/4 miles time at 20K no one can touch the SRT4. Matter of fact I don't think there is car on the market for 30K that's faster.

there were no old turbo neon's from the factory...the srt-4 is the first factory turbo'd neon
i know neons are a piece, but the srt has potential to be the shizzzzz....it does remain to be seen whether it will develop typical neon problems...
come to think of it its a dodge, so the problems are only a matter of time

Yeah there's a ton of hype about the SRT-4, and it's a neat little car, I'll give it that much... BUT... Something comes to mind. Some of you think the SRT-4 is a sleeper, but I think I'd take home a PT Cruiser Turbo as well. Same engine and everything. Now THAT'S a value!

i've been thinking or wondering the same about the pt cruiser...i wonder if it really is underated powerwise like the srt
the pt with the right accesories wouldn't be too bad maybe...i wish they'd hurry up and build the pt bruiser...no rear side glass, lowered, fat tires, etc...i saw one on some show last yr, but never heard or seen anything else about it

I thought the PT Bruiser was by John Hennessey... ...the same guy who turns "wimpy" 460 hp Vipers into TT monsters.
