I've been in the Air Force for almost 9years. I'm currently stationed at Barksdale AFB Lousiana. I've been stationed at Davis Monthan AFB Arizona and Spangdahlem AB Germany. Anybody else out there ever been in the military? Anyone have spouses or parents in the service?

Air Force for 4 years. Got out in 1998. I was stationed at Shaw AFB for most of that time. I would have reenlisted if they could have promised me I could go to Europe. But, of course they couldn't. So, I got out making twice as much money.

I was in the Navy for 8 years. I too got out to make more money. It didn't happen right away thanks to some idiots who decided to run some planes into some buildings, but things are much better now.

Hey there, AF wife here. We are stationed at Charleston AFB, SC right now. I am also an AF brat. My dad's a retired E-8. My hub is an E-4 for now, just took the test yesterday for E-5. We pray that he made it but won't find out until August. I think he made it. I don't rely on his intution because my hub's too hard on himself. He doesn't have a reliable judgement when it comes to how he did on tests. LOL. Feel free to PM me if you want.

I'm an Army brat. My dad was a Doctor (Social Worker). We lived in the DC area two times (once when I was born, then again about 10 years later), Fort Benning, Fort Gordon, and Camp Zama, Japan. Dad started his career in the Army working on HAWK missles in Korea during the Vietnam War. He had 22 years total.

Currently in the AF. Started at Schriever AFB in Colorado Springs, got a non-vol assignment to Cheyenne Mtn which was across town and then took a job out here in Cali at Edwards AFB. Been in for 5 1/2 yrs and am an e-5

Four years active and four years reserve (as a cadet, while in college).
Left after four years active duty as as a First Lieutenant promotable and honor grad of my Signal Officer Advanced course when they wanted to send me to Ft Polk, LA, (No thanks)
I was a Signal Platoon leader and then the Company XO, not to mention the Battalion Training Officer, all part of 38th Signal Battalion, supporting the 56th Field Artillery Command (Pershing-II Missles) until spring of 1991 when the unit was deactivated in accordance with the INF treaty.
