I think there is a fella on here w/ a Roar intake.

However, I think Roar has gotta be pulling somebody's legs. First off, their website is full of lame spelling errors. That's very unprofessional.
Second, 10hp more than a K&N on those cars? 30 something more on the Lighting? NO WAY!!! I'd like to say those dyno plots were helpful...but they're practically invisible. Also, did anyone notice the HUGE power dip in the VW? If I had a VW, that alone would steer me away from that intake!

Anyway...I'm a little off the subject of the electrocharger. On that note, please take note of the spelling errors on the Ebay site, and please notice the seller keeps mentioning how cheap it is. I bet I know why it's so cheap!

OMG why would anyone even think of this? It draws power off the alternator, thus that has to run harder. So whatever little power is gained in the FI you loose to the alternator taking it up again. You may as well take a leaf blower and run that in the car, prolly would work better, I trust black&decker cause they can spell! And hey if it doesn't work, you still have a leaf blower, not e-bay sh!t.

the e-ram has been dyno'd tested by a CEGer on a contour and yes it worked, i believe with avg. 7hp gain and 30hp at some spots. a supercharger drains power from your drive belt, but it still works,, maybe not as good as a turbo, but it works.

Brad Noon is the culprit. He used to have an E-ram, and yes, gained HP on the dyno. Simple physics is that even with about 1psi of boost (somewhat equivalent to 70-80 mph ram air effect), the gain outweighs the loss of the extra drain on the alternator.

Gee, all FI draws power from one place to boost it somewhere else. Gosh, even jet engines restrict core thrust to drive the big fan, from where they derive 80% or more of their thrust. (Talking big fan engines here, of course.) Just because you are drawing power to make power, doesn't mean the equation ends up 0 or negative.

The eram consumes 50 amps @ 13 volts so that's 650 watts and 1hp is 746 watts...figure the alternator is only 50% efficient, that's 1.74hp MAX consumed by the motor...now it produces around 1psi of boost (based on the airflow capabilities of the motor) and 1psi usually equates to around a 8% power increase. So on a SVT 200hp*.
08=16hp-1.74hp=14.26hp.....

14hp is nothing to sneeze at considering thats more than an intake and exhaust together gain.

The stock creates moreair pressure in the intake tube than those things do it just another rip off. Turbos shove air into the intake. So these guys thought hmmmm if we just shove air in there with an electric fan that would be easier than turbo. A real real strong electric fan might be able to do it. But those little bilge pumps cant. Im not sure a strong electric fan would work either. Because as the turbins turn form the exhaust the also create a little bit of vacum. Heloing get exhaust out faster. An electric fan cant do that.

How exactly is a stock air system going to push air in?

an electric fan can't do what a turbo can, but an electric fan such as the e-ram can give you gains,,, or you can just keep THINKING it can't.....
