my problems with the Grizzly clutch continue. Now, whenever I have the car in gear with neither foot on the accelerator or clutch I get a nasty clicking/grinding noise that absolutely sounds horrible! I've had people give me the worst looks. I really have no idea what it is to be honest. If I push in the clutch it goes away, start accelerating, it goes away. Only when I let the car "roll" in gear does it make the noise. Clutch doesnt have near the bite it did before it started doing this. The clutch in first gear really doesn't want to engage easily. I kinda have to ride the clutch a little to get it moving. I can also hear what I believe is this same noise when I cut the car off. At idle I cant hear it but when I cut it off I hear a clacking/rattling noise from the clutch are. Also, I'm leaking what I think is trans. fluid. I figure it has to be since its the only reddish color fluid in the car that I know of. If you havent read my other post recently this Grizzly clutch has given me absolute hell and I havent even had it 2 months. Any help would be appreciated guys. -neal

I can only post my own experience with the rattling noise from the clutch area. My clutch was working on its own schedule, sometimes yes, sometimes no. With 75,000 miles, I replaced the clutch, presssure plate, etc. The racket was coming from a rivit head that had broken off the pressure plate spring retainers. Evidently, it was getting hung-up when it wasn't busy whirling around, polishing the inside of the bell-housing.

I don't know if gizzly is like other aftermarket clutchs but mine came without the dampning springs that go in the clutch pack they leave them out for a reason, to give you more response faster enagening. Mine does the same thing prefectly normal. Sounds like rocks rolling around inside the trans when the car is idling and in neutral correct?

thats it probably a better way to describe it dustyn...sounds likes rocks rolling around. But mine makes no noise at idle or neutral. The only time it makes it is when the car is rolling in any gear w/o either foot on the clutch or accelerator and it rattles when I cut the car off.
I never noticed it before and I'm not sure if it's been doing it all along or if its just started. I cant hear it if there isn't something to echo the noise. For instance if I'm pulling into my carport and the car is rolling in first I hear it really well. I dont know, really weird it could've been doing it all along just haven't noticed.
Still taking it to the shop AGAIN on Monday to have the check it out. Thanks God I have an extra vehicle I can use or I'd be paying out the ass for a rental.

no need to take it in its perfectly normal for an aftermarket clutch. When you push the clutch in you are no longer letting the clutch disc push on the flywheel in other words thereis nothing turning so there is no sound. Save your money and don't worry about it.

I get the "rocks rattling in a can" sound when I have the revs too low and give it gas (ie - "lugging it", usually only happens below 1500 RPM. It's noticeable but not terribly loud - I can only really hear it if I'm driving beside a wall. I have heard the term "clutch chatter" and wonder if this is what I have? FWIW, the noise gets really loud if I mess up my takeoff and the car is about to stall.
