I have a 2000 Contour SVT w/ 20,000 miles on it. I have the ADR RS Limited Valkyire wheels (17") wrapped in Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's (215/40/17), at the moment. These tires suck, they are noisy as hell. The tires probly have like 4,000 miles on them tops. I currently live in Sarasota, Florida but I'm moving to Canton, Michigan this week. I need a tire that can take the beating that Michigan roads hand out. I'm also looking to get a 45 series tires due to wheel gap. If you could throw some suggestions my way that'd be great. Thanks for your time.

Eric

Oh yeah, one more thing, I also have 40mm offset wheels w/ inTrax springs, so please tell me a size tire that will not have rubbing issues.

Been looking @ 225/45ZR17 Dunlop SP Sport 9000...

sp sport 9000's are great, I've driven in them in a ML55 AMG, I'm considering it myself for the houston weather (lot's of rain, until recently). . .the UTOQ is good too, like 280 or 300, right?

Go with a 45 series, and I'm not sure about the 225, I would stay 215 unless you get the right offset (45-49.5mm optimal, 42mm will suffice, anything less should rub).

The Firestone Firehawk SZ EP tires that I purchased 4,000 miles ago are very satisfactory. They were 225-50-16.

They are much quieter than BFG's. Have great grip. Look dynamite!

My car is a green 1999 SVT. It's still getting plenty of compliments! Many think it's brand new.

I'll throw my .02 in here. Tire rack suggests these:

1.)S-03 Pole Position
2.)Pilot Sport
4.)AVS Sport
5.)P-Zero Rosso

in that order. I have the s03's and am very happy with them on 17" fsvt wheels, the 215/45/17 which are on sale too.

Read the reviews on tirerack.com for each tire to help you decide.

Worth a try, a new tire, had mine on for a couple thousand miles and love them. I am not sure how long they will last, but they are quiet and very good on dry and extremely good on wet.

Go around the Internet to various tire companies and read the owners reviews. Also check the noise listing on these sites. I'm on very Quiet Falkens
