Status or not, BMW's and Audi's are excellent vehicles. They carry a quality feel that you canno get with an SRT-4 or an Evo/STi. They are just different and some people don't care about the quickest 1/4 mile time.
I love the SRT-4 for what it is, but I would have a hard time giving up my IS300 for one even at $10k less.
