Thanks, eric
check out some of the nissan forums. i'm not sure what stillen has up their sleeve for the G35, but most of the parts for the 350Z are probably compatible. and i am SURE that the car can handle more power. nissan did not skimp with these two cars.

The latest SCC mag has a sweet 350Z with a TT kit. Mind you it doesn't bump the power as much as you'd expect, it's till under 300hp, IIRC. I admit the 350Z looks downright awesome from behind - it looks so squat and wide (can you tell that I am into chics butts or what? ). Th stylin is very good, but it's just not potent enough for the money. The Cobra as cool as having +380hp is still just a Mustang. And I see more Mustangs than I can count, everyday. It's just not Aesthetically pleasing enough for me and it's road manners off the drag strip don't impress me. Give me AWD anyday. Growing up around the WRC scene and seeing many a tough WRX - STi all the way for me if I had to by another performance car. The aftermarket is so huge for it and it's specs make it tough to beat in any situation or road condition. The Evo would be next, but they really fugged up the front bumper on it, and in all truthfullness, it's really an Evo 7.5, so I don't likle the lying about it. Plus Mitsubishi America are a bunch of (unts! Just ask the 2nd Gen Eclipse owners how happy they are they they are dying off like the dodo due to sh!te workmanship on the american built 4G63. As long as the engine is fully built and imported from Japan it should be OK.

Eric
how is the aftermarket for the G35?
If comfort is a concern, that would probably nix the SRT-4, Sti and EVO. Out of what remains I would probably pick the Rx-8, not a torque monster, but there are few things as sweet as winding out that rotary

I absolutely love most of the cars you are choosing between, but im surprised there aren't more fans of the Nissan 350z!!!
That car is amazingly attractive - i can't help but stop and stare everytime I see one, even if its parked. Not potent enough? Isnt it comparable to Boxter S performance AND handling at 26k base?
I'd seriously consider it... but then again, same with the G35, and I kind of have a soft spot for the Rx8 too - youd probably be the first one anyone has ever seen... and those doors look tight. Performance is a step below, though, I assume.
Just my opinion

for me, the 350Z shouldn't be an option for someone looking for apractical car. with only two seats, it's pretty limiting. the Infiniti has better looks, longer wheelbase, better interior materials, and 4 seats (and maybe 5 more HP). seems like they are similar, but the G35 is much more luxurious.

For those who doubt, the G35 coupe looks very much like a bigger 350Z. Both look great!
As for the vote it depends on what else is already in the garage? Otherwise get the 350Z...

Well, I have driven both the g35 and the 350z on several occasions. ( I am a Nissan salesman ) The 350z has 7 more hp, and rides like a true sports car. The g35 has a softer suspension and a clock on the dash. ( main differences in the cars ) The 2 seats in the back of the g35 are only good for midgets and 5 year-olds. Also the spoiler on the g35 looks like a$$. Not worth the extra 5-6000 dollars.IMO I find myself in your situation though, in that I will be buying a cobra or a 350z within the next 10-12 months. I just can't decide which.

Believe me the g35 is not much bigger than the 350z inside.

Mazda or Cobra. The EVO is what you get when you spend 26g modding a gocart. They are so ugly! The STi is fast and probably as much fun as we are allowed to have legally. But I think Subaru dropped the ball in styling. Ugly taillights and ass-end. The RX-8 is mindboggling in the beauty department. And I'm sure it's still pretty pleasing to drive, especially with the rotary! Cobra...well it's a Cobra. The longest running American muscle car(mustang), still in production after all these years. And it all started with a Ford Falcon. History and balls in one package. There will ALWAYS be an aftermarket for Cobras. ALWAYS
