Hi Pete,
This is something a little deeper than that. This is something that only started after I had some manual tranny work performed. I never had the hang probs before that. Now since the tranny work was done it's huge. I admitt that I have patched the problem by using the throttle hang fix but the car is not running just as it should as a result. I'm really anxious to put the new TPS in, remove the copper cap(throttle hang fix), and then see what happens. The TPS was only $30.00 so it's not costing a lot to find out.
What I don't understand is how some MTX work could ever cause this problem to happen immediately afterwards and to be so prominent. BTW, what actually causes the classic throttle hang problem?

The Throttle hang is caused by Emission Controls that ar built into the computer's software.
The only way around it is the TH Fix.
When your transmission was worked on, they had to disconnect your battery.
This would reset your computer and possibly cause the Throttle Hang to appear,
when it wasn't there before.
It isn't related to the work done on the transmission,
it is related to the computer being reset and relearning to idle and drive.
The Black Air Bypass tube doesn't alleviate Throttle hang.
It is there to get rid of the moosing caused by the older piping.
The older piping would resonate the moosing sound, and make it loud enough for you to hear.
Removing the piping, removes the moose.
You should be happy.
You Tour is actually doing what it is supposed to do!
