i`m driving to work the other day, everything is fine. Standing at the light, little civic pulls next to me, so i floor it. i get to the point (3500rpm) when secondaries should open, then don't eek confused ,
any reason why? how do you fix them?

I STILL KICKED CIVICS ASS laugh laugh

are you stock if so sounds like the computer rev settings if theres no other sounds or drop in gas milliage probably just one of the neat computer things ford does. I put a JET chip in mine when i got it you will also need a modified air intake(ZX2) but i gaurentee you will be very happy with results and if you thought you put spanking on that civic now wait till you see waht this will do for you.

Making the assumption that you have a V6 or even an SVT, I will tell you that it is almost def the LIM (Lower Intake Manifold). They get hella dirty and eventually stick shut of are erratic when opening. There are a million topics on the Performance and Mods sections on how to clean it. It is fairly straight forward, but it does require "some" ability to turn a wrench. Check the "How-To" and Mods forums. Good luck. BTW-I had the same problem. Do yourself a favor... Get new IMRC clips for the actuator arm. They break and will cause undue stress... mad

Like stated. Your intakes definitely need cleaning (even if not the cause they can sure use it laugh )

Something else I would check is the cable to make sure it is not broken. You can do this easily by pulling on it where it is exposed right by the secondary linkage.

Also pull the electrical connector off of the IMRC and clean/check the contacts. (both ends) Apply some dielectric grease to the plug and re-install it.

It may. The car will only read the Stuck IMRC as an issue when it is attempting to open them. If you clear the code and drive around like an old lady, it may never come back on. Mine used to stick only on occasion and never threw a code.

I'd check the cable is connected and the IMRC is opereating before you start with chips etc...I thought is was a simple question.....?
