I thought this coating was just released a few weeks ago as an option from MSDS?

I know there are 1 or 2 people from NECO that got the new coating when it first came out.
I haven't heard any problems yet. Couldn't hurt to search just to be sure.

ok. Did the search...Here is the only one I can find right now.

New MSDS Coating

edit - found another one.

New MSDS Coating II

This should answer any questions...if not, just call Marty and post the results.

Fletch - if you could, please post a link to the post where this newest optional coating has failed already. I couldn't find it.......and I'm tired of searching. lol.

Well the new coating came out in about march of this year, and the post you are talking about came out at the end of last year....I think. Anyone want to correct me on this?

Hopefully the "new" coating holds up better than the past ones.

Ok...I see where the confusion is.

the MSDS Headers had an original ceramic coating that was very thin. Most had issues with rust. This was the first generation coating.

Then, last year, Marty came out with a new coating - we'll call it the second generation. This is what came on my headers. Supposedly they were supposed to withstand a lot more salt and be more rust resistant. But as you can see by your link, and others complaints, it was not the case for some of us. Some have had no problems, however, some have had terrible luck.

Now...A few weeks back (IIRC, end of March, early April) Marty began offering an optional "third" generation coating from I believe, a third party vendor. This "Third" generation optional coating is being compared to likes of Jet-Hott. This is the one I was talking about....You were talking about the "second generation" coating.....I think we're straight now.

Personally - I just went with Jet-Hott. They offer a great gaurantee on their work.....especially on NEW headers.
It cost me around $220 to get mine coated through Jet-Hott.

Regards.
