Fist, excuse-me for me english... I will try to do my best.

I have a contour 1995 4 cyl. 2.0L.

The belt of my alternator begin to "go away".

I've buy another belt, to try to change by myself.

The problem, is I cannot! I've call 2(two) Ford dealer to explain to me how to change the belt... 2 different answers.

One tell me to play directly to the alternator, other one tell me to move the tensioner (don't know if my spell is correct on this word)

Both of the pulley, very hard to acces... the most difficult is the tensioner.

The alternator is behind the motor and very hard to acces to the bolt.

I can send some few picture if you want of my config of my Contour.

I'm not sure about the 2.0L but with the 2.5L it makes it much easier to go in from the wheel well. There should be a plastic cover in the wheel well. Remove that and you should have much better access to the engine. You will then want to start to put the belt on and then when you are trying to get in on the last pulley you need to remove the tension with the tensioner and the belt should slide right on for you. Like I said though, this is how it is on the 2.5L not sure about for the 2.0L, I don't think there should be much difference with how to do the belt. Hope this helps

I have 96 2.0 and my belt system is same as your and I had mine off countless times. The bolt on the tensioner is 13mm.You can get the tensioner easier from the bottom.Take the little plastic cover off the bottom of your car the covers up the crankshaft pulley and the rest of that stuff its a small cover and is held in by 2 bolts. After that the belt and pulleys will be exposed from bottom.just slip your wrench on the tensioner bolt push up and remove belt.Once you get down there you will find it alot easier.GOOD LUCK

dude, clean that engine, just spray some degreaser on it and let it sit for about 5 minutes, then spray off. JUST MAKE SURE THAT THE ENGINE IS COLD WHEN YOU DO THIS or you could crack the block.

i use castrol engine degreaser. cost like 5.99 at wal mart. its in the purple bottle. but you can use any degreaser. just spray it on, let it sit for 5 minutes and then spray it off with a hose. spray it on the whole engine, dont miss anything. just make sure the engine is COLD when you do it or u could crack the block.

Does I need to cover all wires made in plastic?

No damage will be made on plastic wires or on any other component?
