Well, I'm a big fan of BFG, but if you need to save money then BAT is selling 4 Firehawks for $200!!! http://www.batinc.net/files/cspecial.pdf

Hey thanks for all the input, I finally have it decided down to two tires after all my searching and reasearching on tirerack.com. Let me know what you think, I am leaning towards the KDWS. (Mustang owners I know seem to really like BFG)
225/50/16 BFG g-force T/A KDWS
225/50/16 Bridgestone Potenza RE950
I will be going to discount tire probably this weekend to get a quote, but in the meantime I need to decide how long to wait to get tires. 5/32 on fronts, 3/32 on rears (just had them rotated a month ago)

Both tires are very good. Difficult choice! I prefer the looks of the RE950.
You'll be needing tires very soon. I would enjoy them during this summer...

I only run BFG's on my cars and currently have the VR4's on my Camaro. The KDWS is the new improved version of the VR4's and that is what is going on my SVT when I burn the POS Mastercraft tires off the car.

Hey, I decided to go with the BFG Comp T/A VR4 in 215/50/16 (discount didnt back 225) and let me say they are AWESOME tires. I am not sure if I just had really [censored] tires before and these are just alright or if they are really good, but I am happy.

I have the General Ameri G4S tired and those tires can grip in the snow. I put 17K on those tired going on a year and they still have about 60% tread left. The treadwear rating is 520?? I think. like the guy said in the previous posts stay away from Firestone Firehawk GTA tires. They wear down too quickly. and they have a low treadwear rating 300.

Time will tell on the BFG's... I'll recommend SZ EP's....Firestone SZ EP 50's... that's right, check em out on TireRack, you'll see...
The Firestone Firehawk SZ EP tires that I purchased 4,500 miles ago are very satisfactory. They were 225-50-16.
They are much quieter than BFG's. Have great grip. Look dynamite!
My car is a green 1999 SVT. It's still getting plenty of compliments! Many think it's brand new. Right now I'd rate the SZ EP's "better" than the KDW's because they feel smoother, sound quieter, feel real good at 100+mph, corner real good....now if I can get more than 25,000 miles out of them, then I'll be completely satisfied with this performance tire.
Firestone stores can either match or beat TireRack price IMHO.

SZ50EP's are $119 at Tire Rack. Local Firestone says $183. Bottom line, installed at Firestone was almost $900.

When I was in the market for new tires, I printed the TireRack's price and stopped in the Firestone store. The sales guy sold me the tires for a few dollars cheaper than TireRack's price (before shipping costs!) and that included the State Sales Tax and Installation and Balancing - Drive out.!!
One thing you have to be careful about an outfit like Firestone or Goodyear stores, they will get you in the front door with a good deal....and by the time you leave, you can feel like you got it in your "back door".!
I saw them sucker people on cheap break jobs or tuneups and by the time the poor customer left, they had spent about 3 or 4 times more than they expected to spend.
The number 1 money maker must be brakes. They had a mountain of rotors and drums behind the store.
I went out into the shop and watched them carefully. When serviceman removed my SVT's wheels, I inspected my pads and rotors...told him that I didn't need new brake parts. (which I didn't after 55,000 miles).
Later after my tires were mounted and balanced, I went to get my keys and pay. The Sales Representative told my it would be a while longer because I was gonna get a "COMPLIMENTARY" Alignment Check.
I told him that I had the Ford Dealer align it 1 month before. He told me that the Ford Dealers Shop was sorry and did not do good work. Judging from my old BFG G-force tires and how the car always drives straight, I told the old boy to forget the "free" alignment check....so I walked out without anything being put up my rear end.
Being I'm 55 years old, I could go on and on about some of this baloney, but enough is enough.
Good luck on whatever you do...boys and girls.

SZ50EP's are $134 at Tire Rack for the 225/50/16 size. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Sizes.jsp?make=Firestone&model=Firehawk+SZ50+EP%2CFirehawk+SZ50+EP+RFT
The $183 at the local Firestone store is certainly the MRSP! Nobody buys tires at the MRSP! I just purchased my SZ50 EP set from my Ford dealer at Tirerack price, installed, balanced and without the charges nor the hassle of shipping...
