My check engine light has been going on and off for over 3mnths now and i finally went to Auto Zone today to figure it out. I own a 98 contour svt, and i believe the code number was 1131: Lack of Ho2 sensor? I am hoping that the Ho2 sensor will be the fix, however i need to know where that sensor is located in the engine? Does anybody know where it is, if so is it hard to install/replace?

Thanks,
Marty

Strangely enough, you are not the first to have this code.

P1131 Lack of Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor Switch - Sensor Indicates Lean - Bank No. 1.

It's on the rear exhaust manifold between the engine and firewall.

A search will turn up many methods of access.

Search using P1131 turns up many threads, here's one that you should read before jumping to conclusion O2 sensor needs replacing: P1131

BTW CEL code list is in FAQ section on home page.

edit: O2 how-to

One more quick question, i have read thread after thread on this topic and still a little unsure. I know there are 4 sensors total, on two sets of banks. However, with my P1131 code, do i need to replace all sensors or just certain ones? How much are these little buggers?

Thanks,
Marty
