Final Destination 2.... I would have rather bought Herpes with my 9$ than wasted it on that movie.

Here is an interesting theory someone on another forum had..

Quote:

I think there are no machines. Infact the Matrix is built by Humans (and not machines), to develope AI. And all the characters we see in the movie are just computer programs (like Agent Smith, Oracle). Which means Neo is also a computer program.

Right now Neo is in version 6, and shown to be most promising candidate to being closest to being a human, and thus being the perfect AI. He is the only one to realise that Zion is also a Matrix, and thus becoming self-aware (which regular programs are not). Maybe Persephone (Monica Bellucci) is the only human in the Matrix, and when she asks Neo to kiss her, she is infact testing whether Neo can truely show humans emotion too. The architect is also there to test the program of Neo, by giving a few hints, and see if Neo realises that Zion is also a matrix.

I think in the 3rd part we will see what Morpheus said in the first movie, "In the beginning of 21st century, the mankind was celebrating the creating of AI" (or whatever). This AI is Neo.v6, and humans will be celebrating its successful creation in 3rd part.

Interesting as that idea is , that would be insanely gay. A whole movie of the Matrix turning out totally different , and just some humans celebrating. The machines represent a struggle of an overpowered , oppressed people. They make the story compelling , I WANT the humans to destroy them. Specially after watching the Animatrix. (Watch 2nd Renissance , both parts if you can).

PS- Saying that nukes wouldnt effect machines is ridiculous , they produce heat close to that of the sun if i remember , and have 500mph winds. If bullets do the trick , then nukes would too.

------------Totally Seperate Thought---------------

Lessons We Have Learned About Making Smart Servant Robots

We have learned this:

1) Respect them a little.

2) Dont make them bullet proof.

3) They WILL try to rebel , make them easy to kill.

By following these 3 simple steps , the world will not end.

I have indeed watched all of the Animatrix episodes, and I figured someone else would bring that up. So I didn't feel it was necessary for me to do so

Yes the matrix is a computer program designed to keep humans in check so the machines can use our body heat for their energy.. the point of being "freed" is that you are in your real human form.. not your matrix form... that contradicts everything we have already learned.

All very good points and all. I just wanted to get out the note about Tank. I saw a special on TV about the making of Reloaded an while back (6 months or so) and someone said in it that the actor who played Tank was very unreliable on the set of the first movie. They said he would often show up late, demmand extravagent stuff in his trailor, and sometimes even show up drunk. Because of this the production staff was forced to remove him from the cast between movies.

I have become increasingly convinced that a matrix within the matrix is the only way to explain most of the questions raised by Reloaded. I think there are still quite a few supprises in store however for the final movie. Just from watching the previews at the end of the second one's credits there is hints that Smith is making a power play to take over the matrix (or something) and that the only way to save humanity is for Neo to once and for all defeat Smith.
