yeah could be any of those reasons since the engine didn't come in his car....but really no matter what year the motor...he is only a few mods away from a damn fast car...
tell him to look around for heads, cam, and intakes(as in manifolds, not air filters) tons of them to choose from...that's all it would take aside from the regular exhaust mods, and k&n.....and a set of 3.73 gears, and he'll be flying....those mods got my 93 lx into the 12's....dropping a couple thousand in it would be about all it would take...

My friend with me in his '95-'96 Prelude VTEC (190hp) raced my friend's 2000 Camaro V6 ATX and beat him, we were constantly pulling on him but we didn't kill him by any means, and his car was an auto. Manual V6 Camaro would I think beat me in my Duratec 5-speed, but I was asking whass up with 99+ SVT. I never had a chance to drive one. Also don't even talk about V8 F-bodies, especially after 96 model year. LT-1 and LS-1 got some serious balls.

BS i have driven a 1995 Z28 and their is NO WAY IN HELL a tour (i dont care if it is an svt) could stay with it on the drag strip. i have seen lightnings get killed by Z28's.

"on engine alone".....doesnt matter anyway. i dont think it could happen even with NOS. you would need a 200 Shot to do it, and you would blow rings, welds and all kinds of [censored] in the tour (not to mention the clutch). even with an Automatic in the camaro, if he is shifting through the gears...he'll kill a tour.
the only way i could see a tour staying door to door with a Camaro Z-28 is if he was launching in OD (overdrive) and the tour has a 100 shot. any other gear...he's gone.

Actually bro, it is 190hp. This is quote from Ford.com > " The base engine powering Ford Mustang is the 190-hp, 3.8L OHV V-6. The engine features split-port induction, which helps optimize fuel use, and easy-flow cylinder heads with high-tech piston coatings, which help increase horsepower"
