My Rear Pads after taking them off today. They have ~73,000 miles on them. And they are the original pads that came from my 1998.0 SVT.

I bought my E0 with around that many miles on it, and the rear brake pads looked exactly like that. I'm going to get around to new rotors sometime soon-the worn pads did a number on them.

Mine lasted 86k miles. The rear were just as worn as the front. I guess the e-brake slides around corners didn't help any.

holy crap! do they do yearly state inspections of vehicles in MD? I would think someone would have noticed that miles ago and informed you to replaces them! Good to see you noticed it before anything too expensive happened.

LOL! Mine looked the same (rotor was trashed too...metal on metal), just replaced the OEM rears at 89K...and this past Winter made for a lot of e-brake slides...

Looks like mine at around 52k. Fronts are still going.

Actually no you only get your car inspected when you purchase it. After that, that's it. I like it that way anyway, as I keep good tabs on most of my stuff. I thought the rear pads would have lasted longer. My old SE with just as many miles on it had more pad left and were in better condition than these.
