I would think someone would have noticed that miles ago and informed you to replaces them!

Actually no you only get your car inspected when you purchase it. After that, that's it. I like it that way anyway, as I keep good tabs on most of my stuff. I thought the rear pads would have lasted longer. My old SE with just as many miles on it had more pad left and were in better condition than these.
