His statement is no assurance of axle strength when comparing it to your setup.
You are talking 2 completely different animals.
At best a strong NA 2.5L is putting out around 160-170 FWTQ compared to a turbo's 230-270 FWTQ. Not even remotely in the same ball park!
Rick from Torsen stated the stock axles break at ~15% more torque then the stock diff can handle. That's not saying much for their strength!
I'd be getting upgraded axles before I spent a penny on new rubber.

Actually my point wasn't about how strong the axles are but that they will hold up because I don't think if he runs the car hard it will have enough traction to break the axles. I guess we will find out if the BFG DR's are much better than the Nitto's. This is not much different than my stock 8.8 in my Mustang that holds up to a 650 hp/600 lbs ft 460. It isn't put under alot of stress because it just spins the tires until you get tired of them smoking.

You'll bust the axles maybe not twist them off from sheer power but it will tear up the CV joints and you'll wreck them. I wrecked mine on just a 2.5 with all the bolt on's.
I offer PnP Heads for all durtec's details at PnPheads.com or jesse@pnpheads.com for details.

I've destroyed 2 on my SVT in less than a year. But I replaced them for $75 each w/ lifetime warranty. It's a one time fee for free CV axels until I fork over the $700 for 'good' ones.

By the way, awesome runs. And on 5psi too.Yikes!
Hey, can you guys hear that? Shh, shh, shh. Its the winds of change. (Name that movie)
[GnuLoCo]
Winds of change ? Sounds like a line from Russel Watson's Faith of the Heart, which was in the soundtrack for Patch Adams (also what was playing all through the end credits).
It's also the theme music for the Star Trek spinoff, "Enterprise."
If that's not the correct answer, well, it's your own dumb fault for giving crappy clues, and for that you should be pittied.
