My wife just got a 95 Mystique with 61 K 0n the clock, and I was looking over yesterday. I would like to know how in Gods name does one get at the rear plugs on the v-6

Actually compared to some GM engines where you have to rotate motor, Contique rear plugs are relatively easy.

You just click here for the how-to from home page FAQ: v6 spark plugs

It's easier than it looks.... Especially if you sit on top of the engine.

I use a 9" extension (measured tip to tip) on the plug socket... I unplug the electrical connector from the coil pack to get it out of the way.... then put the socket down onto the plugs with the extension, but not with the wrench attached... you can lift back the rubber hood seal at the top of the firewall for clearance... then after the socket is on the plug, you will have room to attach the wrench
This is the first car I've owned where I could get at all plugs.

And I never have had to disconnect the wires from the coil pack or remove the coil pack either.

I will add one more:
Besure to duct tape the spark plug socket to the ratchet extension. Once go around with the tape is enough to keep them as a unit.

This needs to go in the "How-To" section. This question comes up eternally. Kudos to Pranqster for taking the time to illustrate how easy access to the rear plugs really is.
