Just as Hoosier's thread drops off..yet another. The rundown:
Car started to miss at low rpm off idle to 3000 rpm. Then cleared up and ran fine. Started on Saturday and I first though it was bad gas. I ran my tank out on the highway as much as possible then got a fresh tank of 91. I also threw in a bottle of tried and trued Heet. It still had the miss, and was very consistent.
I pulled the plugs last night to check for a fouled or soaked plug. All of them looked brand new and were still gapped correctly. They are new with only 8K miles on them. I always use anti-seize and dialectric grease. Car was not throwing any codes.
Today I changed the wires to my original set with 50K miles on them. Thank god I saved them. Never throw out parts!! Started the car up and took it for a drive. I could tell right away that the miss was gone!!! Kept driving to build some heat and still no miss!
So my Ford Motorsport spark plug wires only lasted 38,000 miles. Not too impressive! I am going to cut them apart tomorrow. I'll be looking into a new set of stock wires or some Magnecore's if Bill's price on the stockers is to high.
I will not be running FMS wires ever again!! Too bad MSD doesn't make Super Conductor's for the Duratec.
