I just draped a plastic bag sandwitched between a couple of shop rags over the downpipe & clamped it with a couple of clothspins. No biggie.

Lately I've been putting a ziplock gallon bag over the filter while unscrewing it. Kinda a pain in the ass, but you can let filter fall right into the bag.

I dont even need ramps or jacks If you have a decent slant on your driveway, put the front wheels just inside the garage where it is level, leaving the rear wheels on the slant, and there is enough clearance

Ditto Hetfield's post: I wipe it down. The residue burns off after 5-10 miles.
