Ok, the oil change is a no-brainer. Putting in Mobil 1 5w-30 Synthetic and a Motorcraft Filter.
My question is - how do you change the oil filter without getting oil all over the exhaust? It looks like the oil filter is going to drain all over the front downpipe. I really don't want the car to stink like burnt oil. I don't see any evidence of oil on the exhaust now, but it sure looks like it'll get wet when I go to change it later today.
Any suggestons?

Its pretty much unavoidable. If the exhaust is cool enough, you can throw some shop towels over to catch the oil. I just wipe everything down real good before I start her up to check for leaks. The small bit that's left will burn off in no time.

Wrap it in tin foil, then remove the foil when done. I'm too darned lazy, so I live with stink for a few days.

Thanks both of you. I think I'm going to give the tin-foil a shot.

Hey, that's a good idea! I'm glad I thought of it I might actually try that next time.

Related to this, but on a side note.... Where the heck do you jack this thing up? I put a floor jack on the frame rail behind the left front tire (looked like where you put the emergency jack) and as I was jacking I saw the metal start to crush. Am I supposed to jack it by the cross brace out front? I'm about ready to try some ramps.
Sorry for the nOObie questions but I'm trying not to kill my car!
Just did a search on 'jack location' and it looks like I had it right. There is another in the front that I'm gonna look for. Thanks guys.

I usually have a can of brake cleaner on hand, I use that to spray down the y-pipe.
