I use 93 octane in my SVT Focus. Owners manual says use 91 or above. 93 is only about $1.60 here.

93 octane is like $1.299 here, 87 is $1.199 and 89 is $1.249
for 2 cents more they pump it for you.

I run 93 octane, and I pump it with a blue towel under the pump to stop drips from getting on the paint.

2000GT nice!

I raced even a 95 5L ATX Mustang w/ 3 passengers, that I got the jump on and we went to 90 on SR37 between Orleans and Mitchell. How did I know it was an ATX, it shifted so slowly.

My MAF reading are telling me that I am around 170-175 HP at the wheels.

Dustyn, lets dyno sometime, like June 2nd at Clemons, I need a/f tuning.

There is a reason why on the gas gauge itself, the message "Premium Fuel Only" is there. You go to the gas station and pick up the "premium" pump and pump it in there. I don't understand how you are saying higher octane (a measely one point) is so bad for the car. Oh well. I run 93, always have always will. I have never in my life heard a spark knock in my car. You may be getting some shidty quality gas.

I run 93 and then 87 and so on. I save some money doing that. If I run 87 for two or three tanks I get pingings. I dunno why a 99 SE needs it, but it does ever since the Pro-M maf. Then again I am having it recalibrated, so that might solve the problem.

I have a 99 CSVT and Ive been running 93, would I be better off just using 91 since you guys were saying our cars arent made for that high of octane rating?
