Made a big difference on my car. Engine and sound seems a little more aggressive. Comments?

Our cars are not designed for anyhting over 91 - 92 octain unless chiped and reprogramed for the higher octain, or if your using nitrous would it help with anythting. You might just be experiencing a regain in power because the previous owner might have used 87 octain all the time....or it could depepent ont he out side temp (cooler air is good), or the brand of fuel you use...some fuel brands have more adittives that cause you to waste more fuel, and slight loss of power......Theres a lot of factors as to why it feels better to you.
Could it be just because of the 94 octain...yes.....How likly is that answer...Not very.
If our engines were designed to carry that high of a rating then i would have to agree with you, but because there not our ECU units cannot read that high stock, im a fraid im going to have to stick with one of my alternative reasons above.

Thanks Roz. Your explanation makes sense. It may have been the temperature or the 87 octane thing. I think I am going back to 92. The gains seems to have dropped off.

mid grade is 89 oct. you should run premium gas only.. it doesn't really hurt that much however. I won't do it.. but I heard it causes knocks and engine to run crappy.

Actually the SVT Programming can "self tune" so-to-speak between 87 to 93 octane. (00 SVT's especially well with the newer PCM & programming)
I myself could notice a difference between cheap 91 octane and the normal 92/93 octane Amoco I run.
...all I wish was 94 octane was available at the pump here... I sure could use it!!!

Thanks for the clarifiction.....I have a 1999 SVT and it doesn;t do well with anything lower than 91 octain (here in CA we get the waterdown good fuels).....but Down the street a 100 octain is available......i know our cars cannot deal with anything voer 93, but he down here 100 is some good [censored]! Again thanks for the info greg.
