Noticed yesterday. Started getting worse today. Something is making a rattling noise. (May be grinding, but i don't think so.)

I can't tell yet where its coming from, other than the front half of the car.

It only happens when the car is warm, and at certain low RPM ranges. (aprox. 1000-1500, and 2200-2700).

Doesn't seem to make a difference if I'm moving, stopped, clutch in, clutch out, in gear, out of gear.

I'm hoping it is just the loose heat shield or something.

Sound familiar to anyone?

i get a rattle noise when i shift too early and the rpms are too low (ie ~1k). i'm pretty sure it's the heat shield rattling but i've been too lazy to look at it.

I can make a lot of thing rattle when I shift too early. laugh

Its too loud to ignore. I just checked, and am 90% sure its the resonator, or around that area.
(Tube between the muffler in the rear and the catalytic converter)

Common? What would cause that?

All better. It was one of the heat shields above the exhaust pipe. Thanks for the help. laugh
