The baffle you speak of is a plug for the tips. 1) it will rob performance 2) it looks lame
I went w/ Brullen quiet w/ a center resonator. I probably gave up 1-2 hp by going quiet w/ a res, but I can't stand drone inside the cabin. That said, my system sounds "sporty" in the cabin, no drone, and "very sporty" outside. I love it.
