Just changed out my faulty 02 sensor, and I'm taking a trip to Niagara Falls next Friday, so I'll be better able to determine that when I get back :p

Best I ever got was close to 33 MPG going from NYC to Buffalo.
450+ miles one way on ONE TANK of fuel.
Made the whole trip in 6.5 hours too !

The Contour Owners Manual says our fuel tank holds 16.5 gallons of fuel.

I got 16 MPG driving from Boston to New York one time. It is about 220 miles from my girlfriend's ex-apartment to Garden City, Long Island. I couldn't even make it on a tank of gas. I was following an S4 and he was doing 95 to 105 the whole way. So, the secondaries were opened up most of the trip. eek

But I made it down there in about 2 and 1/2 hours. eek

It's a misprint. The fuel tank has been 14.5 gallons since the first one rolled off the assembly line.

I once got 420 miles out of a tank of gas in my SVT, but I was REALLY pushing it, couldn't find a gas station for miles..

I averaged 320-350 miles per fill-up on the highway, and anywhere from 225-275 in the city, depending on how I was driving..

Ray - Might be time to replace your fuel filter, and clean your air filter, if you're getting such bad mileage. And maybe a bottle of fuel injection cleaner while you're at it.

did the keg ride shotgun??

i've never put my tour on longer than a 99 mile drive for the most part at any one time but i usually around 280 or so to a full tank running to near empty....i think the mileage sucks but it is a v6 with a hole in the floorboard from my right foot going thru it all the time....the car is so much fun its just hard to stay off the gas

im planning on doing the parking brake repair and see if that frees up the rear wheels and hopefully ups the mileage a bit

95 contour se...dark blue...monsterflow air filter...remanuf atx...wiring harness recall or bust!!!96k miles...motorcraft awsf32pp plugs & red ford racing 9mm wires...kvr black plated cross-drilled rotors & carbon fiber pads...currently undergoing renovation...excuse our dust!!!
are my dodgers for real????
