I've been reading a lot of the posts about exhausts lately. I was wondering what type(s) of muffler(s) produce the deepest tone on these cars(4 or 6 cyl)? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Even if you don't have the answer, you certainly have to admire the problem.

From what i read, for the least rasp remove the rear mufflers, remove resonater, and put after-market muffler in resonater's place. Is that correct and does anyone have sound clips?

Well I have Bomz racing mufflers and the resonator removed. Sounds really good. I recomend them to anyone with a duratec.

obstruction of flow is bad....plus glasspacks should be replaced on a regular basis.......

I notice that you have a Ztec, so I am not sure exactly how it would sound, but I have a Flowmaster 40 series with the stock resonator. Sounds good to me.
