your right and others were wrong.
i acquired a nasty laceration in the left hand about a week ago .. even with my incapacitatedness, I did the TB pull and
with 106k miles .. those egr passageways were pretty damn clean. only a tiny bit of grime in there and around the TB.
well shoot.. a ton of work for nothing - but at least that was eliminated as a pproblem possibility.

so your saying the O2 sensors just like to crap out and get clogged like an air filter eh ?

i heard these things were expensive.. that being the case.. can anyone suggest wehere to buy them because i am sure not going to do so from Mr. Ford.

???

Hey would you believe my crappy Haynes manual actually has this to say about testing the O2 sensor:
?

"Testing of this component can be done only by attaching special diagnostic equip. to the sensor wring and confirming that the voltage varies from low to high values while the engine is running. Do not attempt to test any part of the system with anything other than the correct test equipment. This is beyond the scope of the DIY mechanic, and should be left to a Ford dealer service department."

those damn sensors are really not cheap not even the cheap expensive i thought they might be.

pby after cat: borg warner $76.72
before cat: $69.99

advance auto
they only list the before cat, Bosch, lifetime mfg. defect warranty, $60 .

these kinds of expenditures aree not anything any DIY mechanic want to drop .. i understand these are self heating o2 sensors to bring theme up to temp quickly for better accuracy or reading or reduction of emmissions and better engine performance , but DAMN... $70 ! hell no !

Bosch 13115 = approx. $70 at Napa... make sure you get OE style, not universal... otherwise you will have to splice on a connector... OE style has connectors... just plug it in....
The front sensor is relatively easy to get to, the rear one is a true pain in the butt (I had to remove the upper manifold and coil pack and could still BARELY get the socket onto the sensor)

I just won an Bosch o2 sensor on ebay which I bid for over a week ago... got new ones since... now that one from ebay will be extra. I was thinking of keeping it as a spare, but I might want to sell it now..

Eric, I think all 95 2.5L contours have only two o2 sensors (mine does anyway). 96 and on has four. I've ordered mine from www.oxygensensors.com for $49(generic) each. They are available for $55 (oem). Free shipping within US.
