Contrary opinion here.

Assuming you still have ESP coverage for a while longer, I would have Ford do the work, even though they will install their "improved white plastic impeller". This suggested in case you may have further problem during warranty period. The white impeller does not seem to have the horrendous failure rate as the original black plastic and replacement metal impeller pumps have some history of infant mortality re shaft seals.

BTW, there should be no problem driving car short distances with failed pump as long as you keep temp out of red by stopping frequently and turning engine off. I had to start/accelerate/coast with engine off/stop/repeat for several times when both of my pump impellers shattered a couple of miles from home. DIY replacement with metal in my case.
